Hi, Kristen Dobs.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), NCBLCMHC-approved supervisor, and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2017 and have been providing outpatient counseling services since that time.
Growing up as the daughter of an Army service member and now a military spouse myself, I understand firsthand the unique challenges that military life can bring—including frequent transitions, deployments, family stress, identity changes, and the importance of resilience. These experiences have shaped both my personal perspective and my passion for supporting military members, veterans, and their families.
I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, and the complexities of separation or divorce. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s needs. I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and solution-focused techniques to help clients build insight, develop effective coping skills, and create meaningful change.
